Marisa Mullen

Marisa has been an athlete her entire life. A former college rugby player, she learned early on what it takes to push through fatigue as part of a team — a mindset that shows up in everything M&M's Movement does today.

That competitive drive led her to CrossFit, where she's spent 11 years immersed in the methodology, hooked since her very first 5 a.m. class. She went on to become a full-time coach for a CrossFit box in Nevada, spending years building programs and helping people get stronger — experience that now shapes how M&M's Movement designs recovery and training spaces for firefighters in the field.

Along the way, Marisa became a Certified Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, working with clients around the world to bridge the gap between performance and internal health. That belief — that true recovery starts from the inside out — is at the core of every module M&M's Movement brings to basecamp.

Today, Marisa serves as a Firefighter/Paramedic, giving her first-hand insight into the physical and mental demands of high-stakes work. She's lived the long shifts and the toll extended incidents take on a body and mind — and that's exactly why she co-founded M&M's Movement: to make sure the people doing the hardest work have a real chance to recover, reset, and keep showing up strong.

Madalyn Mullen

Madalyn has spent her life competing at the highest levels. A former Division 1 soccer player and professional athlete, she knows what it means to push a body to its limits — and what it takes to keep coming back stronger, season after season.

That physicality came at a cost. Years of high-level competition left Madalyn with a body that needed real care to keep functioning, and that experience sparked a deep passion for recovery — not as an afterthought, but as a necessity. It's a perspective she carries directly into M&M's Movement: recovery isn't optional when the work is this demanding.

Madalyn brought that same drive into the fire service, serving two years as a volunteer Firefighter/EMT in Calaveras County before spending five years as a Firefighter/EMT with CAL FIRE. Between her years as an elite athlete and her years on the line, she felt first-hand what it's like to ask a beaten-up body to keep performing — and how much of a difference real recovery support makes.

That's the experience Madalyn brings to M&M's Movement: a firsthand understanding that firefighters, like athletes, need more than grit to go the distance. They need the tools and time to recover, so they can keep showing up for their crews and their communities.
